Meet the Chef

Joining The Queen’s Arms in 2022, Head Chef Rich Townsend has put his signature stamp on the menu. Creating beautifully fresh dishes from scratch, his passion for perfection, skilful food artistry and refined style have earned him and his team a second AA rosette.

Chef

Rich joined The Queen’s Arms in 2022, his first Head Chef position. His passion for creating London-level food from locally produced ingredients has elevated the pub’s menus to new levels.

Rich is passionate about local produce and creates every element of his dishes from scratch. From the pub’s beef dripping mayo and legendary pork scratching on the bar,  to our famous milk burger buns,  to the rosemary crackers on the chees board everything is created with sustainability in mind.

Rich enjoys the challenge of developing dishes that reflect the seasons and finding ways to use more unusual ingredients such as citrus-cured monkfish with ruby grapefruit, fennel and pickled ginger. He’s recently started hosting foodie events at The Queen’s Arms, such as Fish over Fire, a seafood tasting menu, cooked over a wood-fired grill.

When he’s not busy cooking up a storm, you can find Rich playing footie with his 2 boys, he’s also partial to a pampering spa treatment or two from his therapist wife.
